Speaker 1: Hi. How are you doing? This is Ian from Parrys Flooring. We have a lot of customers who come in and they’re still choosing carpet, which is absolutely wonderful.

Customer’s main three things that they think about is the softness of carpet, the feel of carpet, the right colour, and obviously the cost here at Parry’s, we think a little bit differently. We look at things like what sort of fabric we actually use. We look at wools, we look at synthetics.

Wools are lovely, quite expensive carpets but beautiful, warm, loving the house and wear very well and lasts a long time.

Synthetic carpets range from polypropylenes, polyesters up to nylons, so you’re looking at durability, you’re looking at budget friendly, you’re looking at practicality.

The other things we look at is all those things to do with shades of carpet. So we look at darker shades, which may hide stains, which people want versus lighter shades, which makes rooms look nice and big. They’re also neutral shades that people can pick that actually blend and work together well with furniture.

The other things we look at is to do with the feel of the carpet. Is that a loop pile or a cut pile style?

The softer loop pile, highly durable, doesn’t show all the marks and the footprints and the vacuum marks that people do not want.

We also look at the lifestyle of people, do they have kids. Have they got pets? Is there a staircase involved? If they’ve got office furniture? All these things are important to know when choosing a carpet, and the best carpet for that situation.
