There are so many different types of flooring you can have in your home, from vinyl to laminate, tiles, carpet, and solid wood flooring. But have you heard of hybrid flooring before?
Hybrid flooring is one of the newest types of flooring you can have in your home and is a revolutionary new product that gives you the stunning look of hardwood floors while providing the durability of laminates or vinyl flooring.
How is hybrid flooring made?
Hybrid flooring is a man-made type of flooring for your home and is sort of like a fusion of laminate flooring and vinyl flooring, taking the best elements of each. Hybrid flooring is constructed with multiple layers of materials pressed together to create an extremely hard-wearing floor. It is created in a plank, so as to perfectly mimic the look of hardwood flooring.
What are the benefits of hybrid flooring?
There are many benefits of hybrid flooring. One of the main benefits is how durable and low-maintenance it is. While it has the look of hardwood floor, it doesn’t scratch easily and there is no need for regular sanding and polishing to keep it in tip-top shape. One of the other main benefits is that it is 100% waterproof.
Unlike laminate flooring, it has no wooden core but instead has a limestone composite core board, so not only is it waterproof, but it can resist direct heat and extreme cold so that the boards only expand and contract minimally due to any temperature differences. This means no lifting, splitting or buckling of your flooring as the temperature changes. Plus due to its composition, hybrid flooring is also odour proof, making it the perfect flooring choice for those with pets.
Where can I use hybrid flooring?
The beauty of hybrid flooring is that due to the durable nature of it, you can use it pretty much anywhere! While you wouldn’t use laminate in wet areas such as bathrooms or laundry rooms, because hybrid flooring is 100& waterproof, it is the perfect alternative to tiles in those areas.
Plus as it is scratch-proof, it is perfect for living areas and kitchens as it won’t show wear and tear, even if you have children or pets. By choosing one type of flooring throughout the main areas of your home, you can keep your style and look of your home consistent, which is why hybrid flooring could be the perfect choice for your home.
Is there any need for maintenance?
As we have already mentioned, while it may have the look of hardwood flooring, there is none of the pesky maintenance work that goes along with it, and so there is no need to sand and polish your flooring regularly.
All you need to do to keep your hybrid flooring looking great is a regular sweep or vacuum and clean. Because it’s 100% waterproof, you can even mop it! It really is the easiest to maintain flooring choice available.
